When I Was Sick

While others were happily celebrating the new year, I have to stay in the hospital and go through all the terrifying experiences. I was admitted to Gleneagles Hospital on 2 Jan and only discharged on 11 Jan. Mommy and I stayed in the hospital for 10 days. It was a terribly horrible experience. I cried almost everyday and begged Mommy to bring me home. I hate that place. I hate the pain and the medicines. I had to eat 9-10 shringe of medicines each day.

What happened during the 10 days?
I had high fever up to 41'C. The nurses gave me suppository to lower my body temperature but I hate that. They made me pain. Mommy felt helpless when I cried in pain. Sometimes they did it to me twice a day. Ever since then, I jerked awake even when they just touched me.

Mommy and Po Po understand how terrified I was and they sponged me whenever I have fever. They took turn to stay awake at night to sponge me in order to avoid me being given the suppository. Mommy was trying her best to reduce the pain I had to go through.

During these period, I had done 3 blood tests, 2 x-rays (1 more after discharged), 1 ultrasound, 1 urine test and 2 nasal swabs. And I was on intravenous infusion till the last day. It started with my right hand, then they changed it to left hand and later back to right hand again.

Mommy was heart-broken when she saw how traumatised I was and she couldn't bear to see me in pain especially when the nurses and doctor set the line on my hand, one time after another. Once when I was alone with her, I saw her in tears as she was very sad to see how weak I looked. I was a bit shock to see Mommy in tears but I said to her "Mommy, don't be sad."

Mommy, Daddy, Gong Gong, Po Po and Kao Fu did a lot of things to cheer me up. I got a new toy everyday and I got my favourite balloons.

I'm very happy to be home now. I do not want to go back to the hospital anymore.
